How to Make Money by Writing Online
HubPages is obviously one site that pays money for writing articles. But what about other sites? Are there any good sites that pay big bucks for articles?
I decided to search out some quality writing sites to see what they paid and what were their writing requirements. In summary, I found 3 good sites, which I explain below.
1. Associated Content. Associated Content is a content-based website that makes money via Google AdSense and other affiliate programs. When you submit an article (with a subject matter of your own choosing), you receive an upfront payment of anywhere from $3-$14. After your article is published, you continue to receive payment on your article via page views. If you write popular articles and attract traffic to your pages, you can make a good amount of money every month. So far, I have made over $6000 now with Associated Content. I average about $20/month in page views. If you would like to check an example Associated Content page, click on this link: http://www.associatedcontent.com/user/44841/hally_z.html
2. Constant Content. This site is a third party matching service for writers and clients. It is more strict than Associated Content in terms of the quality of writing that it accepts. However, its payments are also significantly higher. For example, a 500-word article can get you $30 or more. You set your own price for your articles, and the longer they are, the more money you usually get for them. There are no page view commissions; however, you can set your article to be sold for usage only or exclusive rights. If you set your article for usage only, that means you get to sell it again.
Constant Content accepts articles of your own choosing. However, it's better if you look for client requests and generate articles for those requests specifically. I've made a good chunk of change with Constant Content, upwards of $1000. Want to check out Constant Content? Click on their link: www.constant-content.com
3. Textbroker. This site may be the best of both Associated Content and Constant Content. Textbroker is also a third party matching service for writers and clients. When you first join Textbroker, you are asked to provide a writing sample, from which the quality of your writing is judged. The better you are, the more you will get paid per word. Writers who attain a 2 star rating make 0.7 cents/word. Three star writers make 1 cent per word, and 4 star writers make 1.4 cents/word. There is also a professional writer rating (5 stars), but you have to earn that rating on Textbroker by writing high quality 4 star articles, or articles that are judged by the site as of 5 star quality. Once achieved, the professional writer status earns you 5 cents/word.
The are two nice things about Textbroker: you make more money than writing for Associated Content, at least upfront. There are no page view earnings, however. Also, unlike Constant Content, your articles are bound to be accepted once you write them for the client. You may be asked to revise your article, if it is not to the client's specifications, but you will probably never be rejected.
So far, I've made about $2,000+ on Textbroker. If you'd like to peruse this site, here's the link: www.textbroker.com
I hope this helps everyone know that there are reputable writing sites online (besides HubPages, of course) that do make you money!

Textbroker is great. You get paid right away for your article instead of having to wait and hope that people will view your articles on sites like AC
